Taylor Swift, in full Taylor Alison Swift (born December 13 1989 West Reading Pennsylvania U.S.) American pop and country music singer-songwriter whose tales of youthful heartache earned her widespread success in the early 20th century. Swift was a fan of music at an early stage and progressed swiftly from roles in children's theatre and her first public appearance in front of an audience of tens of thousands. At the age of 11, she sang The Star-Spangled Banner before a Philadelphia 76ers basketball match and the following year she began playing guitar and began to write songs. Swift was a singer who took ideas from Shania's music and that of The Dixie Chicks now known as The Chicks in the world in country music composed her original songs to reflect her experience with alienation. When she was 13 Swift's parents decided to sell their property in Pennsylvania in order to relocate to Hendersonville Tennessee so she could spend more time to wooing labels from the country near Nashville.
